US News & World Report ranks Children's Healthcare of Atlanta among America's top 10 pediatric hospitals.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has once again been ranked among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals by U.S.News & World Report. The 2010- 11 edition of “America's Best Children’s Hospitals” is published online at www.usnews.com/childrenshospitals.

Several specialty areas at Children’s are ranked including heart/heart surgery (No. 7).

At the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center, pediatric physicians specialize in caring for children who have congenital heart defects, and for those patients who develop heart defects later in their childhood or teen years. At the Children's Sibley Heart Center, pediatric cardiologists, cardiac intensivists, pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric heart surgeons and staff work together to heal thousands of children with heart problems each year. The Children’s SibleyHeartCenter also is ranked as one of Parents magazine’s top five cardiac programs in the U.S.

The methodology behind this year’s rankings weighed a three-part blend of reputation, outcome and care-related measures, such as nursing care, advanced technology, credentialing and other factors. Nearly 100 pediatric facilities responded to the 65-page survey, which asked for detailed data and statistics. Click here for a detailed description of the methodology.

As a not-for-profit organization, Children’s provided approximately $90 million in unreimbursed care in 2009. Children’s offers access to more than 30 pediatric specialties and is committed to enhancing the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education.
